Community Over Competition

Date Goes Here

Hello Reader,

How is August almost over? It has been a crazy few weeks over here. As a family we have been out of town pretty much every other weekend. I love making memories with my little family and can't believe my little guy turns THREE next week!

Now that summer vacations are all wrapped up, I'm gearing up for fall with lots happening — new office, new long-term contract role, and more! I'm so thankful for the growth I've had in my small business and on a personal level. I've been doing a lot of reflecting on community and how important it has been to my success.

It all starts at home. My supportive husband and kids who put up with me each and every day. Beyond my family my little community has grown so much—from friends and family across the country in Georgia to new friends here in Colorado. I even have clients around the country who I now call friends!

I've made so many connections over the years and it has really shown me the reality of community over competition. I'm not working to be an influencer or even filthy rich — I'm working to help people, not compete. Community fosters growth for everyone, and thats what I'm here for!

Recently my community helped me find and land a longterm contract I'm excited to start in September. More on that to come!

The summer slump is real — things slowed down over here, but now are ramping back up as we head into the fall. I'm so excited with what is to come for my little business, especially my office! So, for an office update:

I am hoping to be moving in NEXT week! It won't be 100% finished, but I'm so excited to move in and make the space my own! I have to give a shoutout to my buddy Paula who has poured her sweat (literally, it is HOT here!) into helping finish off the office. Her skills and knowledge have been just what I needed! Talk about community!

And finally... thank you to those of you who guessed what project I was working on! I'm basically done, but may add a green leaf behind the petals to my sunflower wreath! This was a practice round, as I have more materials so I can make at least two more... but the plan for this one is to hang it on my office door!

I did want to provide a quick update on my self-imposed illustration challenge! Of course I decided to launch when things we "slow" but now as they are ramping up I haven't been able to do one illustration a day... BUT I'm still working on it! Follow me on Instagram or Facebook to see my progress. I've shared through the letter K but L is almost done!

September 29, 2023 Hello Reader, It is crazy to believe September is coming to an end! This month has been a whirlwind. I started a new contract role on September 1 and I've also been working in my office! Things have been so busy around here I haven't had much time to think about this newsletter, let alone get a blog out or add a new product to my store. So a brief update from me: My new contract role is with the Society of Outdoor Recreation Professionals (SORP). I'm also still working with...

July 28, 2023 Hello Reader, If you received my last email and tried to access my website, you may have come across an error! I thought it would be fixed when the email went out, but it was not. It is now fixed! And I extended the coupon through the end of August! Code is RLDNEWS to get 20% off any purchase in my shop. I have been in and out of town A LOT this month, so there isn't much news on the office space, besides it passed the rough electric inspection. Next is insulation and drywall! I...
